Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal

We have put together a list of 120 really great attractions for your leisure time in Cumbria and the Lake District - whatever the weather. All the attractions are marked on our interactive map or you can enter the postcode of the atttraction to be shown it on the map.

We’ve colour coded the entries as follows: outdoor activity, arts, historical, animals, industrial heritage, garden/house and garden, transport, indoor activity/attraction, faith centre and multi-activity centre. Several attractions combine a few so we’ve chosen the main theme or called it multi-activity.

Size matters: Big all day attraction means you can spend most of your day there. Mid-sized is good for at least a couple of hours and up to half a day’s entertainment and a small attraction should keep you amused for an hour or two. There are one or two attractions where you can see all there is to see in half an hour or less; these are labelled very small attraction. Obviously the time spent varies greatly according to taste, interests, attention span, age and, in some cases, how much cash you are prepared to part with while you are there.

Please note that opening times are nearly always reduced between October/November and March. Some attractions close for periods in winter. Most attractions offer discounts for groups of 10 or more.
